From the shocking event of yesterday, where motorists on Third Mainland Bridge saw a man identified as Dr Orji jumped to his death from the bridge, it appears the rescue effort of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency that arrived at the scene is still ongoing as it is yet to yield any result.

Eye witnesses say Dr Orji asked his driver to pull over on the bridge so he could pee. He alighted from the car, walked to the edge of the bridge and leapt over the bridge railings into the water. The incident occurred around Adekunle, inward the popular bridge at about 4.50pm (Sunday). There was a witness who also quickly alighted from her car, ran after Dr. Orji but he had jumped into the lagoon before she reached him.

As at sundown yesterday, LASEMA said rescue efforts were still ongoing to recover the body of the victim. Both the vehicle, a Nissan SUV with registration number, LND476EE as well as the driver of the victim, have since been taken to Adeniji Adele police station for further investigations.

Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, the General Manager of LASEMA said that proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities.
Meanwhile the Police have located the mother of the victim who is being consoled by church members. There are reports that he attended church earlier in the day.
