The seeming cold war between Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode seems to have dissipated as Sanwo-Olu paid him a visit on Wednesday at his residence on the occasion of the latter’s 60th birthday.

The governor and his predecessor clashed prior to the 2019 governorship election.

Ambode, who served one term in office, lost the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primaries in the state to Sanwo-Olu.

His loss was due to a fallout with President Bola Tinubu who was the then party leader and some APC stakeholders in the state.

The last time both were publicly seen together was during the APC national convention in 2018 where they were the cynosure of all eyes.

The duo not only walked into the Eagle Square, venue of the convention, hand-in-hand, they both sat together to the admiration of party members.

Sanwo-Olu had challenged Ambode in the race to secure the ticket of the party for the 2019 governorship election.

The governor accepted his loss and thanked the winner.

Sanwo-Olu had the backing of Tinubu, national leader of the party, and the state party excos as the candidate of the party over the incumbent governor.

This led into a bitter campaign between the two.

Sanwo-Olu had felicitated with Ambode earlier.

The governor said Ambode dedicated his time to the service of Lagos State as a governor and civil servant.
