Michael Collins Ajereh more popularly known as Don Jazzy is living up to his hype as one of the most successful music record label founders. The MAVIN Records CEO has taken up residence at the penthouse of Oriental Hotel.
While many are breaking their back and bones to acquire luxury homes for themselves, Don Jazzy decided to take the unconventional route and feels more comfortable to choose the palatial penthouse of the hotel as his own roof over his head. Of course, the penthouse of the luxury hotel just like that of most hotels, does not come cheap. But it is obvious that money is the least of Don Jazzy’s problems.
The penthouse which is also the presidential suite occupies a breathtaking 297 square metres, roughly 3,197 square feet, spread across 2 levels. 2 master bedrooms sit upstairs, with a guest bedroom downstairs, alongside a grand (massive) living area like a mini event space, bar, 8-seater dining space, jacuzzi and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that open up panoramic views across the lagoon on one side and Victoria Island on the other. It is essentially a 3-bedroom plus duplex in the sky, with 1st class hotel services to go with it.
The penthouse sits on the uppermost reaches of the hotel, with access controlled with the highest form of security. There is a dedicated lift, restricted access and security personnel whose job, quite simply, is to ensure that everybody who gets upstairs has a legitimate reason for being there. Rates for the penthouse runs in the region of millions for a night but if he is comfortable shelling out that kind of money daily without the hassles of running a proper home, then who are we to question his decision?
