Eghosa Imasuen, a Nigerian writer and medical doctor, has unveiled a book titled ‘The Challengers’ which chronicles the rise of VFD Group leadership.

The book unfolds as a work of narrative non-fiction, documenting how Nonso Okpala, Adeniyi Adenubi, Mobolaji Adewumi, Gbenga Omolokun, Azubike Emodi and several other young professionals transformed the uncertainty of the 2008 global financial crisis into what would become one of Nigeria’s most successful diversified investment companies.

The Challengers argues that Africa’s next generation of enduring businesses may be built differently.
Through years of research, Imasuen captures the journey of founders who built an institution by prioritising governance, collective decision-making, and resilience over individual acclaim.
