Before his incarceration in a London prison for money laundering, the former governor of Delta State, James Ibori never hid his open love for members of the opposite sex and had quite a few of them whom he kept for companionship besides his wife, Nkoyo who has since disappeared from the radar after serving time in a London prison for helping her husband launder money. One of those members of the opposite sex is Geraldine Ibori nee Ononiba whom he met long before Senami Sosu who has been his constant companion since his release from Prison. So smitten with Geraldine was Ibori whom he met at a friend’s wedding, Joe Obue, that he married her immediately after her graduation from law school and fathered a son by her. Infact, James Ibori married her when he was the governor and was still married to his wife, Nkoyo. However, the marriage rites were performed without his then wife’s knowledge who only found out when Geraldine who is the daughter of a former Federal judge, knelt down at a public gathering and introduced herself to the then first lady. Naturally, the then first lady was livid with anger but bidded her time till after she left the government house. Today none of the women he courted in those days have any ties with him including his wife who left him for good, save for Senami. Many have also wondered what may have become of Geraldine since his days of incarceration and thereafter. There are talks that he may have relocated her to America where he has set her up in style.
