Women at Risk International Foundation (WARIF), run by  Dr. Kemi Da-Silva Ibru, recently announced its partnership with the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR). The NIMR is the only National Reference Laboratory with capacities for basic, applied and operational research on HIV/AIDS in the country. The body is continuously carrying out research and developing new ways to ensure that the amount of people contracting the virus is reduced to the barest minimum.

The institute does this by generating scientific data that can help improve policies and interventions in the treatment and control of the virus. This partnership will play a huge role in decreasing the prevalence of new cases of HIV/AIDS in our communities as WARIF continues to support the survivors of sexual violence with its free health, legal and counseling services.

About WARIF
