Nigeria’s sports minister, Solomon Dalung, has announced that his first wife has passed on. He however did not give details of her death. He said in a facebook post,
“For it is appointed for man to live thereafter comes death and judgment says the Holy Bible. While in the Quran, it states that it is appointed that every soul shall taste death.”
He continued, “My heart is heavy, I cannot continue, I lost my first wife this morning. May her soul and the souls of faithful departed rest in the bosom of the Lord, amen. What a black Sunday.”
This is the first time the sports minister will hint that he has more than one wife. During his time as the Chairman of Langtang South Local Government, he elevated Naomi, the mother of his six children, as his First Lady. No other detail of his wife was open to the public until today, as he announced the passing of his first wife.
