The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Williams and Kate Middleton have announced that they have named their third child and second son, Louis Arthur Charles. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge. Louis was born at 11.01am on 23rd April 2018 at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, weighing 8lbs 7oz. As the third child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge he is fifth in line to the throne.

While Louis is a nod to Louis, The 1st Earl Mountbatten of  Burma, who was Prince Philip’s uncle, Arthur is probably from Prince Arthur (Seventh child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert). The Duke of Cambridge also has it for his middle name. And Charles is to honour the baby’s paternal grandfather, Charles, the Prince of Wales.
