Pastor Idowu Iluyomade the ousted Senior Pastor at the City of David parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG has floated his own church, signaling a final departure from his Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye led home grown church.
The first service of his church, The Family Fellowship took place on Sunday January 19, 2025 at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos which will serve as its temporary base.
Some old members from City of David, as well as new members attended the service. However, his wife, Pastor Mrs Siju Iluyomade was absent.
Speaking during the service, one of the church elders said they have been re-emphasizing to the Iluyomades for months that it’s high time he got back to his ‘real self’ and not let the resources God deposited in him go to waste. He revealed plans to move to the church’s permanent site in a mater of months.
IvoryNG had reported how Pastor Idowu Iluyomade was suspended for three months in June 2024 by the hierarchy of the RCCG over misconduct, particularly after his wife celebrated her 60th birthday in an obscene manner less than a month after a huge financial donor to the City of David parish, Herbert Wigwe, died in a fatal helicopter crash alongside his wife and son.
Until his death, Wigwe was the chairman of Access Holdings, a corporation he was a co – founder of.
Iluyomade was later redeployed to the church’s headquarters.
Pastor Id as he is fondly called and his socialite wife Siju have kept low profiles since then although they have made a few appearances at some social events lately.
In November 2024, the clergy couple released a single decided to add gospel singing to their resume with the release of their joint new single, No One Can Thank You Enough.
