Following a list in circulation, said to have been compiled by the Federal Ministry of Finance and dated March 28th, 2020, of all the donations made so far by wealthy individuals towards the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, has refuted the claim that he donated 2 billion naira, the amount stated on the list as his own contribution.

The list which parades the who is who in Nigeria has names such as Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Atiku Abubakar, Ben Legacy, Tuface Idibia, Herbert Wigwe, NNPC, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Segun Agbaje etc. While most of the names on the list were said to have contributed N1billion each, Pastor Enenche was said to have donated N2billion naira. Even Tuface Idibia was said to have donated N10m.

Well Pastor Enenche is disassociating himself from the purported amount. In a statement, the senior pastor of the 100,000-auditorium church says the document is not only fake, the amount he supposedly donated is also false. He said that although he made generous free will contributions towards combating the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the church’s Christian Social Responsibility, the alleged N2billion naira is an exaggeration and because God will never bless a lie, it became necessary to refute it as the church is not given to inflation of figures and falsehood.

He reiterated that the medical equipment and safety items the church donated were disbursed to both a rural health care centre as well as to for distribution to the masses, all of which were received by a representative of the Federal Capital Territory, showing transparency and integrity.
