Obinwanne Okeke more popularly known as Invictus Obi has completed his prison term and is back in Nigeria.
Invictus was convicted of internet fraud which caused $11 million loses to his victims, by a US court and sentenced to a ten-year prison term in 2021.
Until his arrest by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI following a 13-month investigation, Okeke was a globally renowned businessman who had investments in oil and gas, agriculture, private equity, alternative energy, telecom and real estate. He operated his holdings under the ‘Invictus Group’ which operated in three African countries including Nigeria, South Africa, and Zambia. He was supposed to remain in prison until 2018 but was let out on early release under circumstances yet to be clear.
Well, Invictus has since reintegrated himself into the Lagos social scene and was one of the guests at the recently held 40th birthday party of businessman, Francis Nwaogwugwu aka Vintage Interiors. He looked dapper in his black tux and tried to disguise himself with a pair of glasses. Based on the warm reception he got from other guests, it is most likely that we will be seeing more of him at social events.
