Ezekiel ThankGod Onyedikachukwu, aka EezeeTee, the founder of EeZee Conceptz and former manager of Mercy Chinwo, the gospel singer, has called for an audit amid allegations of financial misconduct.
His latest call for an audit is coming about two years after he refused to be audited at the behest of Apostle Anslem Madubuko when the crisis between him and Mercy first came to light.
On Saturday, Chinwo accused Onyedikachukwu of secretly replacing the original contract she signed in 2017 with a different one without her consent.
She also claimed the label exploited her, alleging that Onyedikachukwu diverted approximately $345,000 from her digital platforms and events without disclosing the transactions and remitting her share.
Reacting EeZeeTee’s legal representatives, Maxwell Opara & Associates, described the gospel singer’s claims as lies from the pit of hell.
His legal team argued that Chinwo actively sought to be signed to EeZee Conceptz, with the involvement of third parties, and that the contract was signed in the presence of witnesses.
Regarding financial matters, the legal team alleged that Chinwo directed booking revenues into a personal account while still under contract.
They further claimed that the dispute should be handled through civil legal channels rather than by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
His lawyers said he was detained by the EFCC’s Ilorin Command and that he transferred $274,000 to Mercy Chinwo’s account during this period.
“She was indeed the one who went around Port Harcourt soliciting people’s assistance to get EeZeeTee to sign her. Some of such eminent people were K.O Baba, Hilda Dokubo and Pastor Temple Odoko who called both of them to a meeting and prevailed upon EezeeTee to sign Mercy,” the statement reads in part.
“Mercy Chinwo accused Eezee Tee of forging her signature on the Recording Agreement, this is a lie from the pit of hell. Some of the persons mentioned in paragraph 1 were present with Mercy Chinwo when she signed the Agreement.
“…But when she forum shopped, looking for the command of EFCC that will agree to do her dirty hatchet job, she left Lagos and approached Ilorin Command of EFCC that has no bearing whatsoever with the entire civil matter that predicated on a simple contract.”
The legal team further called for an unbiased independent audit by a reputable accounting firm to resolve any financial discrepancies.
“We must reiterate that our client is willing to submit our book of accounts to any of the big four accounting firms for a proper audit and account reconciliation,” the statement added.
