Not many are aware that super star singer, David Adeleke aka Davido’s biological mum is late. During his wedding which held on Tuesday June 25, many Nigerians kept wondering why his dad and uncle featured prominently at his wedding to Chioma while his mum was conspicuously absent.
Here are a few things to know about late Dr Veronica Adeleke.

She was a singer, doctor and a lecturer at Babcock University, Ogun State. She was a music lover, just like her son. In the 90s, she had a brilliant music career and owned a record label. She was also part of a band named ‘David’s Band.’ Aside from that, she also had a security company named after her son, which was called ‘David’s security’.

Dr Veronica met the father of Davido, the influential billionaire Adedeji Adeleke in the 80s. They fell in love and got married. Together, Veronica and Adedeji had two children: David and Sharon. Davido’s dad was a huge donor at Babcock University, where she was a lecturer.
At the university, people loved and respected her for who she was – a very bright and loving woman. On the 6th of March, 2003, an unfortunate incident occurred which left everyone in shock. Davido’s beautiful mother passed away and was coincidentally the 40th birthday of her husband Adedeji Adeleke. She was only 39 years old. She reportedly went to church in the morning for service and when she came back, she locked herself in a room. A few hours later, she was found dead in her apartment. Her funeral was held soon after her tragic passing, and her band, ‘David’s Band’, played at her funeral. It is not surprising that her son decided to pursue a career in music and became successful at it

And what is more, to immortalise her, Davido named his first two female children, Aurora Imade and Hailey after his mother.
