SheGlows, a female mentoring scheme which cuts across the different cadres of telecommunications  company, Globacom, was unveiled on Friday in Lagos by the Executive Vice Chairman of the company, Mrs. Bella Disu.

Joining chief executives of corporate entities across the world in saluting the womenfolk in Nigeria and across the globe, she pledged Globacom’s commitment to the all-round well-being of women in its operations.

At the Mike Adenuga Headquarters of Globacom in Lagos where the scheme was unveiled, Mrs Disu emphasised the need for the female gender to take their rightful place as co-contributors to corporate and national development.

The initiative which is in commemoration of the 2024 International Women’s Day with the  theme “Inspire Inclusion: Investing in Women, accelerate progress”, according to her, underlines Globacom’s desire to build, empower and support the career growth and well-being of female employees  in the company.

She said the day presented an opportunity for mentorship, continuous learning and investment in women who are in the employ of Globacom.

SheGlows   was initiated   to ensure that women in the management cadre  mentor junior cadre women in the system to achieve their career objectives and life goals. We intend to inspire collaboration and conviviality, camaraderie and bonding. We want women in the business to be who they aspire to be while lending support to the advancement of the company”, Mrs Disu  noted.

She emphasized that SheGlows will empower women  to hold their own in the spaces they occupy in life and at work, in addition to fostering a better life-work balance for them.
