Annie Okonkwo, businessman and a former senator who represented Anambra South senatorial district, is dead.

He reportedly died yesterday after managing a terminal illness.

Okonkwo spent his last days abroad treating an unnamed sickness.

Good enough, he was alive to see his son Uche, trounce heavy weights in the just concluded general elections to win a seat in the House of Representatives for Idemili North/South Federal Constituency on the platform of Labour Party.

Okonkowo a successful businessman owned Zoom mobile, a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) telecom business which later closed shop in 2012 because of intense competition and onslaught from GSM operators.
