A former minister of state for finance, Bashir Yuguda, has been appointed a ‘honorary adviser’ to the governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle. Yuguda, also a former ambassador, served as a minister under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. His appointment was contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Suleiman, permanent secretary, cabinet and general services in the office of the secretary to the state government.

The other appointees are Bala Bello, secretary to the state government; Abubakar Dauran, senior special adviser (SSA) on security matters and Ibrahim Bello, senior special assistant on new media. Others are Umar Sani, senior special assistant on protocol matters; Kabiru Yusuf, director-general, protocol matters and Saidu Maishanu, a former official of FRCN Pride FM, Gusau, who is now the managing director of Zamfara Radio and Television Services (ZRTV).

The statement said all the appointments are with immediate effect.
