Tragedy was averted yesterday evening when popular fashion retail store, Grey Velvet, located in the Ikeja City Mall, was evacuated after a fire outbreak incident. According to an eyewitness, Accelerate TV was shooting a fashion programme for Access Bank when the recording lights suddenly sparked and caught fire.

Fortunately, the fire was contained before it could cause major damage. However, the spark of fire caused the sprinklers to become active, thus causing the store to become flooded. Everything and everyone had to be evacuated in other to better manage the situation. Launched in 2012, Grey Velvet, is owned by fashion entrepreneurs, Isioma Onochie-Aihie and Terae Onyeje.
