Olawale Ashimi more popularly known as Brymo, one of Nigeria’s most talented but under recognized and underappreciated musicians, is out with a new album which he titled Oso. The album, which is the first part of a three part project, will be followed by a concert and a book. His sixth studio effort, the discography was released alongside the album’s lead single, ‘Heya’, a beautifully haunting afro soul song, filled with Brymo’s musings about life, love and the passage of time. While this is good news, what has however got people talking is his physical being in the video of the lead single, ‘Heya’. Brymo is almost stark naked in the video except for a loin cloth covering his groin area. He emerges from the water and is seen walking towards a piano in an open area. He sits on a stool and proceeds to play the piano while singing about how man’s problems are ultimately man-made and how ignorance is the bane of the human race. The 11 track album, like most of what Brymo has released in the past, is soulful, innovative, topical and brilliantly executed.
