Television personality and compere, Bolanle Olukanni has extended her love for all things fashion by floating her own fashion line, a social enterprise she calls ‘Fridays are For Maxis’, a ready to wear fashion line created on the premise of giving back to society. This move was made under her fashion-based social enterprise, ‘Fashion for a Cause’. Fridays are for Maxis was birthed with the God’s Wives Foundation (GWF), which is aimed at empowering and elevating widows and single mothers through skills and acquisition. Since beginning this program in March 2017 when the foundation received its first grant, GWF has empowered 75 women, training them in tailoring, makeup artistry and catering. ‘Fridays Are For Maxis’ employs the graduates of the tailoring course, and a portion of the sales goes directly to the beneficiaries. #FAFM focuses on easy and affordable maxi dresses.
