The new ‘IT’ girl of television Amira Ibrahim-Alfa, has been revealed as one of the new hosts for the new season of 53 Extra. The unveiling and revelation aired on the 53 Extra, an M-Net lifestyle programme on Monday August 7th 2017.

The reveal of the new squad  which includes an old hand, Eku Edewor, new comers, Amira Ibrahim-Alfa, Torera Elizabeth, Edun Olaiya and Mawuli Gavor, coincided with the premiere of the 7th season of 53 Extra on Africa Magic Urban (DStv 153), and follows the continent wide search for new hosts of the show in April 2017.

According to the Regional Director, M-Net West Africa, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu,
“53 Extra has served as a spring board for many talented individuals who have also carved their own paths in other areas of entertainments. Which is why our carefully selected new hosts are not only talented and ambitious, they are driven with the passion to make their mark on the African entertainment scene. And it without a doubt, they will take the magazine lifestyle show to an all new height.”

Amira Ibrahim-Alfa, the beautiful daughter of former Chief of Air Staff, the Late AM Ibrahim Alfa and society lady, Kemi Adewunmi, came on the scene like a whirlwind, ticking all the right boxes that make for a good television and red carpet host. A Masters Degree holder in Theatre Arts from Middlesex University London, UK with a degree in Advertising from the University of the Arts London (LCC), Amira began her journey on television in 2016 when she co-hosted the red carpet of the Africa Fashion Week Lagos alongside Denrele Edun thus laying the foundation that has since boosted her career.

She has had the priviledge to work with some of the best photographers and fashion designers for some magazine’s fashion editorial. She was handpicked to be the host of Ethan and Harriet product launch in 2016, the FADAN Runway in 2016, served as a judge on the Miss Ideal Nigeria Pageant 2016, and the recently held Miss Tourism Nigeria 2017.

She is the face of Africa Fashion Week Nigeria and London 2017.
