The Association of Professional Party Organizers and Event Managers of Nigeria​, APPOEMN, is all set for its 2017 National Conference through which members and key professionals can share experiences, perspectives, insights and the latest developments in the events industry.

Themed ‘Proudly Nigerian…Setting Standards’, the APPOEMN conference is scheduled to hold in Lagos from September 14th – 17th 2017.

While addressing the press ahead of the 2017 National Conference, the president of APPOEMN, Gbemi Ope said that the association  would be expecting about 300 event professionals, government agencies and clients to attend the seminar and exhibitions both of which are the highlights of the conference. Both according to the president of the association, are expected to run concurrently.

The round table session which comes after the seminar is expected to focus on moving the industry forward, the standardization as well as current industry related issues. At the end of the session, not only will industry issues be sorted out, awareness of the industry will also be created as well as getting educated about the right ways of doing event business in Nigeria.

Key speakers expected at the 2017 conference and masterclass programme are Mrs Yewande Zaccheus, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Mr. Folarin Coker, the Director General of Nigeria Tourism Board, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola, Nkechi Eze of Asoebi Bella, makeup entrepreneur, Banke Meshida-Lawal, Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, Yemi Amusan, Kehinde Daniels, Pamela Maria Nwonu, Ayodele Subair and others.

An association with a mix of seasoned events professionals that have been at the forefront of the event industry in Nigeria, for the past 15 years, the mission of APPOEMN is to educate, advance, network and promote the events industry and its network of professionals along with related industries. The association according to the president, Gbemi Ope, aims to put in place, mechanism that will ensure proper regulation of event practitioners in the country.​

Also part of the association’s aims are to provide peace of mind to clients and to ensure that event professions are certified, monitored and accredited by the association to provide excellent service. The association is open to everyone that is involved in organizing events in any capacity. These include event managers, photographers, decorators, cake makers and so on.
