Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), are among dignitaries expected to speak at the inaugural edition of a diaspora webinar series hosted by Fidelity Bank.

The virtual event, titled: “The New CBN FX Policy and Positive Impact to Diaspora Investments in Nigeria”, is slated to hold by 2pm on Saturday March 6, 2021.

Fidelity Bank says the session seeks to enlighten Nigerians resident abroad on recent policy measures by CBN and its attendant implications for diaspora investments.

It said the session also aim specifically at providing Nigerians in diaspora with valuable insights, intelligence, and expertise on how to stay on top of their investments back home.

The bank also said the webinar series was borne out of the need to deepen engagement with Nigerian diaspora community particularly as developmental partners considering the critical role remittances play in driving sustainable economic growth, adding that the event will be streamed live on YouTube and Zoom.

Osinbajo will serve as special guest of honour and chief host, while Emefiele will deliver a keynote address at the event.

Other speakers and panelists at the session include: Benedict Oramah, president of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank); Abike Dabiri-Erewa, CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM); Ndubuisi Ekekwe, lead faculty at Tekedia Institute; Olawale Sulaiman, chairman of RNZ Global, among others.

Speaking on the webinar, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, CEO of Fidelity Bank, said the session was most appropriate and timely, adding that in the last 12 years, the bank has become a dependable partner for diaspora remittances and investment.

Onyeali-Ikpe further said Fidelity Bank has continued to offer bespoke products and services that are unrivalled in the financial services industry.
