A Nigerian transgender, Veso Golden Oke is set to compete in a beauty Pageant in Ghana. Veso Gideon Oke  who made it to the top ten finalists will be competing as a Ghanaian with other people born as women. Born to a Nigerian father and Ghanaian mum, Veso was born male but is now officially recognized as the first transgender allowed to compete in a beauty pageant in Africa. Veso will represent Ghana at Miss Europe Continental in Italy if he wins.

Oke who works in Ghana has the support of her parents. Oke is not only a transgender but also a model is also a mentor to some female models, some of who have won pageants. She is also a hairstylist and makeup artist. Oke lives openly as a trans woman in Ghana.
