The Imo State Police Command has paraded a 60-year-old man for defiling a 9-year-old girl living with his family several times. The suspect identified as Alexander Madu from Umuoziri Inyishi in Ikeduru Council area of the state was arrested on September 24, after the father of the girl, Mr. Chijioke Agu reported the incident to the police.
Speaking to newsmen on the arrest of Mr. Madu, the Commissioner of Police Rabiu Ladodo said a medical report from the Police Hospital in Owerri revealed that the 9-year-old girl was defiled.
“Mr. Agu had stated that the suspect had, several times, raped the victim who is a relation of the wife living with them. Whenever the wife was away in the market, he did it until the victim opened up on the 23rd of September 2019” he said.
Ladodo added that the suspect will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.
