Actor and comedian, Chris Rock has split from his girlfriend of four years, Nigerian born actress, Mehalyn Echikunwoke. Rock, 55, and Echikunwoke, 36, quietly broke up a few months ago, before he stole the show at the Oscars by poking fun at Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos’ divorce.
Rock and Echikunwoke began dating in 2016 and soon after, moved into the New Jersey home of Rock.
One source said Rock wasn’t ready to settle down again after his painful divorce from his wife of 18 years, Malaak Compton-Rock, which was finalized in 2016. “Getting divorced, you have to f–king start over. You get to reset. It’s not a breakdown, but something in your life broke down.”
He also admitted to cheating on his then-wife with three women, one of whom is now married actress, Kerry Washington.
“I was a piece of s–t,” he said.
He once jokingly said, “Would I ever get married again? Not if it would cure AIDS.”
