The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA, which took place on Saturday May 9 at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos sprung some jaw dropping surprises.

The ceremony celebrates outstanding achievement in African film, television and digital storytelling.

The jury led by the veteran actress, Joke Silva, faced a heavy task.

Two films, Gingerrr and The Herd, lead with nine nominations each, and the competition was fierce across all 32 categories.
