Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu has defended himself amidst claims by the Nigerian Army that he was openly supporting proscribed Indigenous People Of Biafra.

The Street Journal had reported that the actor and movie producer was assaulted and arrested by the Nigerian Army for wearing a Biafran flag dress.

The army had denied assaulting him insisting that he was arrested for supporting the proscribed groupa.

In a video making the rounds, Agu could be seen sitting on the floor and answering questions thrown at him by personnel of the Army.

The 65-year-old was defending himself while saying that the dress is a civil dress and doesn’t represent Biafra or Eastern Security Network (ESN).
