Barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election campaign rally in Lagos, tankers and trailers that lined up the stretch of Ikorodu road up till Eko bridge, were hurriedly evacuated to make way for the president’s visit, have now resurfaced.

As soon as it became apparent last week that the trucks had been cleared to make way for the President and his All Progressives Congress (APC) cohorts to have a hitch-free campaign, social media erupted with many a Lagosian calling for the head of people at the helm of affairs in the state. Residents could not hide their frustration at the tankers becoming a daily reality only for the same to disappear because of the President’s visit and reappear after his visit, causing untyold hardship to commuters due to the gridlock it causes.
