Ahead of their three night biopic mini-series on BET, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Ralph, Mike and Johnny of New Edition, were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. All of the group members; Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill were in attendance for the ceremony. The Boston-born group, which made enduring hits like ‘Candy Girl’, ‘Mr. Telephone Man’, ‘You’re Not My Kind Of Girl’ and ‘Can You Stand The Rain’ has managed to remain as one despite the early departure of singer, Bobby Brown and the addition of Johnny Gill. The group created a musical blueprint that all boy bands have followed since their rise to pop stardom in the 80s. And now their story is about to be told on television. The film focuses on the rise and fall of the band, putting their impact in context of today’s music industry.
