Forbes, the media company with focus on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle has named Beyonce Knowles the highest paid woman in music for the year 2017 in a newly released list of ten highest paid women in music. Beyonce leads the list with estimated earnings of $105m. This is despite taking time off to birth her twin children, Rumi and Sir Carter. The 36-year-old reportedly earned the money from her visual album, ‘Lemonade’ and her Formation world tour, which grossed a whopping quarter of a billion dollars. This is in addition to her Ivy Park fashion line and other business ventures.

British born Adele came in second with an estimated $69 million. The 29 year old earned much of her income from her world tour much of 2016 and 2017 in support of her third album, ‘25’. 27 year old Taylor Swift is third on the list with $44 million earnings, a significant drop from her earnings in previous years.

Widowed Celine Dion is fourth on the list. The 49 year old has $42 million sitting nicely in her bank accounts and investments most of which she earned from her lucrative Las Vegas residency, this is despite taking a break to mourn her husband/manager, 75 year old Rene Angelil who died in January 2016. Jennifer Lopez, rounded out the top five with $38 million. The 48 years old earnings was  boosted by a Las Vegas gig, as well as new TV show, ‘World Of Dance’, where she is both judge and producer.
