Fashion label, Balenciaga has gone into collaboration with one of the famously mocked shoe brand, Crocs for a platform version of Crocs. The cartoonish 10cm- slip-on sandal designed by Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia and was unveiled on the runway in Paris as part of the brand’s Spring 2018 women’s Pre-A-Porter show. Available in yellow, pink, and a muted green, so far, the shoe can be customised with various rubberised pins that attach to the perforated upper.

A one-piece foam mould Gvasalia says he hopes to be able to 3D print in the nearest future. Balenciaga isn’t the only fashion brand to collaborate with Crocs. Christopher Kane has in the past gone into collaboration with the footwear brand with the hope of making it trendier. But so far they’ve been unable to shake off their ugly image and have remained the staple footwear choice of people who need practical, comfy shoes.
