Anthony Kojo Williams, a former chairman of the then Nigeria Football Association (NFA) now Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) recently came out of hibernation after many years of operating behind the scenes, to celebrate his birthday.

It was a working day, and the party took place at his Victoria Island home. It was a relaxed afternoon of good company, engaging conversation and celebration.

Kojo’s tenure as NFF chairman did not last more than three months on account of what many say was his arrogance and high-handedness, for which he was impeached by the board members. Till date, Kojo was the youngest ever to have occupied that coveted position.

A man of colourful character and vast means, Kojo is blessed with looks and a physique that belies his age. In the area of marriage, he hasn’t been lucky either.  He was first married to a certain Dr. Remilekun Williams. The union, which produced four children ended on a sad note.

Five years later, he gave marriage a second chance and married Isidora, the mixed-race daughter of the Akarigbo of Remo Land, Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo. The union, like his first marriage, did not stand the test of time and the duo parted ways.

Now 66 years old, Kojo has resigned himself to fate, living each day as it comes.
