Clergyman and philanthropist, Pastor Jerry Eze, the founder and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International, has continued in his characteristics manner of giving back.
Pastor Jerry announced plans to disburse an empowerment grant worth $300,000 to young entrepreneurs. The grant will benefit about 100 young people with interests in agriculture, technology, and manufacturing, with each beneficiary expected to receive a minimum of $3,000 to either expand existing businesses or establish new ventures. The disbursement will be handled by a reputable international consulting firm to ensure transparency and openness.
Now because of how open and transparent his previous grants and philanthropic deeds have been,
some businessmen who her referred to as his friends have donated an additional $225,000 to his initial grant of $300,000 to sponsor more beneficiaries. This brings the total money to $525,000 (₦747 Million). These friends include Tony Elumelu, Tonye Cole, Gbenga Agboola of Flutterwave and Nuvicon Bank.
Beyond funding, Tony Elumelu, through the Tony Elumelu Foundation, will provide business training for beneficiaries, while Flutterwave will offer technical support to all qualified participants.
This isn’t the first time Pastor Jerry will be making huge philanthropic gestures. Back in August 2024, he constructed 18 houses across Nigeria, furnished them and handed them over to widows, thus offering them a new beginning and a sense of hope. In addition, he gave out N100 million in business grant to 100 young entrepreneurs to scale up their businesses.
