Idris Olorunnimbe has been appointed chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) board by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Idris who is a relation of Mamora Olorunnimbe, a former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly and the immediate past minister of state for health, brings years of experience in innovative leadership and commitment to youth empowerment and education.

Idris who serves as the CEO of The Temple Company, founded in 2016, Idris has led initiatives across education and entertainment.

Under his leadership, The Temple Company has gained international recognition and currently serves as a preferred facility for major productions, including Marvel Studios’ Black Panther franchise.

He previously served on the board of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he chaired the stakeholder and governance committees for various employment and entrepreneurship programmes.

Barely two months ago, the Oniru of Iru-land, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal, announced that he will be conferring the title of Asoju Oba of Iru Kingdom on Idris on June 14, 2025, as part of the celebrations marking his fifth anniversary. Idris is among seven distinguished personalities selected for their exemplary service to humanity and professional excellence.
