Funke and her husband were arrested for organising a birthday party in their Amen estate residence on Saturday April 5th despite the restriction of movement order and social distance order in the state and spent the night at the State Criminal Investigation Department SCID office in Panti, Lagos.

A police source who was not available when she was picked up has turned himself in and is currently with her in Panti. Singer Naira Marley and other guests at the party who the police have asked to report at the SCID for questioning are still being awaited.

The Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020, prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for any one found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.

Meanwhile, her lawyers have been denied access to her and her husband. A shouting match was said to have ensued at the court as court officials allegedly refused lawyers representing actress Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz, access into the court room.

Of the four lawyers that were to represent her and her husband, only two were finally allowed into the court room after much argument.
