Bandits have reportedly ambushed and killed a Catholic priest at Kufai Amadu in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, setting him and his vehicle ablaze. The priest was said to be on his way to Takum for a peace meeting with his fellow clergymen on how to resolve the lingering Tiv, Jukun crisis when he was attacked and killed.

According to Channels Television, the chairman of the council, Shiban Tikari, disclosed that after killing him, the attackers set him and his car on fire. The Reverend Father, David Tanko, was attacked by Tiv militias, Tiraki alleged. He is from the Wukari Local Government Area of the state.

The police are yet to respond to several calls and text messages sent to the Spokesperson, David Misal, according to the report.
