Abdul Samad Rabiu, the chairman of BUA Group, has taken delivery of a Bombardier Global 8000 private jet valued at about $81 million, making him one of the first Africans to own the ultra-long-range business jet.

IvoryNG had reported back in December 2025 that the billionaire businessman was planning to expand his fleet of private jets and that he sealed the deal with executives from Bombardier at BUA’s Dubai office after weeks of discreet negotiations.

Well the private jet has arrived, and it is said to be the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde as it covers 1161 kms in an hour It is also a luxurious jet for the business class. The ultra-long-range business jet is fitted with bespoke interiors, can carry up to 19 passengers and is powered by two Rolls Royce engines.

The new aircraft joins his business’ existing private jets, Challenger 350 and Global 6500, effectively giving his company, BUA group, one of the most modern corporate private jet line-ups owned by a Nigerian company.

Rabiu has enjoyed a strong financial run. At the time the Bombardier deal was signed in December, he had already overtaken both Mike Adenuga and Nassef Sawiris to move into fourth place among Africa’s richest individuals. His net worth is currently $11.2 billion, marking the largest wealth gain on the continent.
