Dr Babatunde Okewale‘s clinic, St. Ives Specialist Hospital, one of Nigeria’s leading specialist hospital reputable for IVF, family, children and women medical care, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the fertility clinic with a series of activities that began last week with a novelty football match between the clinical and administrative staff and a community outreach in the Ijedodo and Akowonjo parts of Lagos.
The celebration culminated in a gala night last weekend.
The weeklong celebration was worth it considering that the clinic began operations in a three-bedroom property situated in the Aromire area of Ikeja, Lagos. From Aromire Avenue, the clinic moved to its own property off Opebi road, Ikeja and slowly began to expand. Today, St. Ives has birthed over 4000 IVF babies with several thousands of normal deliveries recorded in the last 30 years.

In addition to the weeklong celebrations, Okewale plans to launch urgent care clinics in Lagos and other parts of Nigeria before the year runs out in places like Eko Atlantic, Ikeja and Abeokuta in Ogun State. The expansion is to provide walk-in medical treatment for immediate, non-life-threatening health concerns like minor fractures, severe infections, or sudden illnesses.
