Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Kogi State governor has expanded his harem of wives.
Bello who is currently being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in a N80.2 billion money laundering case, over the weekend took a fourth wife in a very quiet ceremony devoid of fanfare.
The ceremony which held on Saturday 12 July took place in Kubwa, Abuja, away from the media spotlight.
The bride, Hiqma, reportedly a 23-year-old, is said to have caught the attention of the former governor in recent months, prompting swift traditional rites.
Expectedly, the former governor, spared no expenses to make the family of his newest wife happy.
Confirming the marriage, his third wife, Hajia Hafiza Yahaya Bello in a video posted on her official Instagram account expressed joy over the newest addition to the family, warmly welcoming the new bride.
“Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin,” he caption read.
In addition to Hafiza and Hiqma, there is Amina Oyiza, Bello’s first wife and Rasheedat the second wife who was the most visible of his wives when he was governor and who most people liked to refer to as the first lady.
