Olusegun Awolowo, socialite and grandson of the late nationalist and statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo is dead.

The cause of his death is still unknown at the time of this report but his death is coming two years after he celebrated his 60th birthday.

His wife recently celebrated a lavish 60th birthday.

In a heartfelt statement, the family described Awolowo as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, highlighting his unwavering commitment to his family, his work, and his country.

“He was the world’s most phenomenal husband, father, and grandfather — steady, wise, endlessly loving, and the constant anchor of our family,” the statement read.
“A painfully loyal servant to Nigeria, he dedicated his life to the service of his country with vision, integrity, passion, and unwavering commitment.”

Born on 27 September 1963, Awolowo was widely regarded for his dedication to public service and his efforts to advance Nigeria’s economic prospects. The family expressed deep gratitude for his life, legacy, and the love he shared, saying, “May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

Olusegun Awolowo Jr. is survived by his mother, Chief Abba Folawiyo, his wife, children, and grandchildren.

His passing marks the end of a life devoted to family, faith, and national service, leaving behind a lasting legacy in both public and private spheres.
