Mudashiru Obasa returns as speaker six weeks after being impeached, while Meranda is sworn in as deputy speaker

Mudashiru Obasa has returned as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Obasa returned as the Speaker of the House after the resignation of former Speaker, Mojisola Meranda.

Obasa was impeached in February over corruption allegation.

Meanwhile, Mojisola Meranda, the speaker who recently resigned her position has been sworn in as the Deputy Speaker of the assembly.

She was immediately sworn-in following her nomination.
