Some offices and service outlets belonging to MTN Nigeria have been reopened after a two-day closure, which was as a result of the telecommunications facilities in Lagos, Ibadan and Uyo being attacked during protests against xenophobic attacks carried out on Nigerians living in South Africa. Following the attacks, MTN Nigeria announced a closure of all its service outlets and offices. Other shops including Shoprite and PEP were also affected.

According to sources within the company, some outlets were opened on Friday for operational reasons.
