A fuel laden tanker experienced break failure and exploded on the Otedola bridge inward the ever busy Berger. An unspecified number of lives were lost and over 20 vehicles burnt beyond recognition. The fire has however been brought under control about an hour after the outbreak, as men of the Lagos State Fire Service tackled it. Traffic backlog as a result of the explosion extends as far back as the Third Mainland Bridge, backing up to the UNILAG water-front.
