Former brother in-law to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, Kenny Martins has found a way to launch himself back to social relevance with his recent alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Kenny Martins who used to be the coordinator of the Police Equipment Fund, PEF before he was relieved of his job and thrown into jail for the embezzlement of N7.7 billion belonging to the organisation, alongside three others, had gone off the social grid as a result of the fraud allegation labeled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. After series of court orders to stop the EFCC from trying him and counter Appeal court rulings from the EFCC, the fraud case eventually died down and nothing more was heard of it.

Now Kenny who is a twin with former President Obasanjo’s ex-wife, Taiwo Obasanjo, has found a ready platform to launch himself back to social relevance.

He recently announced that his company, the AEC Unity Network Limited has completed the initial stages of designs and studies for the 470-kilometre Abuja-Lagos greenfield superhighway project and is awaiting federal government approval to commence construction work. He claimed that once completed, the road will allow commuters to travel from Lagos to Abuja in four hours. Martins said the project is estimated to cost between $4 billion and $5 billion and is expected to be delivered within four years.

In the same vein, Martins also unveiled plans to construct a spur along the superhighway in order to connect travellers heading to Ondo state, subject to future approvals from the Lucky Aiyedatiwa government.
