Jude Okoye, the long-time manager of the defunct P-Square group and their older brother has broken his silence on the recent controversies surrounding the group members, Peter and Paul Okoye.

Recall that the latest crisis became public after Paul, aka Rudeboy, revealed in an interview that the group has broken up again while accusing his twin brother, Peter, aka Mr P, of dragging him and their elder brother, Jude, to EFCC over alleged fraudulent dealings.

Since then, Peter has written an open letter to his twin brother, Paul, in which he accused him of tarnishing his image and says that he and their elder brother, Jude, collaborated to defraud him.

Reacting via an Instagram live session on Saturday, Jude Okoye rubbished Peter’s fraud allegations, claiming he (Peter) twisted it to make it look like he (Jude) is fraudulent. He further claimed that Peter involved him in the controversy because he knew that people would always blame him for not settling the dispute between his younger brothers.

He said: “These people [Peter and Paul] have children that are teenagers. If they were in America, they would be grandfathers now. Why is it that Peter always involves me in their fight? It’s because he has that impression that people always call Jude, the elder one, [to say] ‘go and settle your brothers, go and put your family in order’.

“What do you mean by go and put your family in order? My family is in order. Let them put their family in order. If they are doing business together, let them put it in order. I have tried to the point I sacrificed myself.”

He denied claims that he was diverting P-Square’s royalties. He clarifies that Northside Music, founded in 2013, managed their funds transparently. Jude reveals the proceeds were split with him receiving 40%, while Peter and Paul each took 30%.

He added that the company in question, Northside Music, is not a secret entity but was established in 2013 with Peter’s full knowledge. He explained that the company’s purpose was to manage the group’s financial interests and that the funds were divided according to a pre-agreed formula.

He emphasized that the money in question, his 40 per cent was his legitimate share of the royalties as per their agreement and not a result of any fraudulent activity.

Jude also touched on the involvement of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, asserting that he had done nothing wrong. He expressed disappointment at how the situation had escalated, accusing Peter of attempting to discredit him.

The rift between the Okoye brothers, which began in 2013 and led to their official split in 2016, has been marked by ongoing tensions. Jude and Peter have both indicated that they will release more evidence to support their respective claims as the feud continues to unfold.
