The album which was released exclusively on Tidal, JAY-Z’s digital streaming service, with around 3 million subscribers, sold streaming equivalent of one million sales (1.5 billion streams) in just five days.

It has been reported that album reached platinum due to an agreement between Tidal and mobile firm, Sprint, one of Tidal’s biggest shareholders, who then offered the album to all of its customers. None of this is illegal, since RIAA rules allow for this to happen, as long as the album’s are paid for in some way.
