Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease. Umahi, who said some of his aides also tested positive for the virus, noted that they remained asymptomatic but have since self-isolate in compliance with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control protocols.
He has directed his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, to take over the administration over the state while advising residents to take all precautions outlined by health authorities to curb the spread of the virus.
The governor had earlier sent in his samples after some government officials tested positive for Covid-19.
