A few days ago, Dr Emeka Okonkwo, more popularly known as E Money celebrated his birthday in a grand way. It was reminiscent of his 40th birthday four years ago which had all the trappings of luxury.
Weeks to his birthday, he decided to put smiles on the faces of the members of Uli community, his village in Anambra State. In conjunction with his musician brother, Kcee and on behalf of his family, the Okonkwo family, he commenced with an electrification project in the village. The community has been without electricity for over 20 years. But they ensured that light was restored in the village.
They also paved several kilometers of roads and beautified them with streetlights, built modest homes for the homeless, distributed over 200 bags of rice and bottles of groundnut oil. They then made a promise to erect a state of the art hospital to replace the only dilapidated one in the community. The foundation for the hospital has been laid and construction has already began in earnest.
Then on his birthday proper, while he was making merry with people who came from far and wide to rejoice with him, he surprised his guests. As is his custom with giving out car gifts to members of his staff and close friends, this year was no different. He gave out 36 cars to some of his staff, family members and friends.
Some of the beneficiaries of the cars included Nollywood actors, Chinedu Ikedieze otherwise known as Aki who got a Ford SUV and music executive, Sosoberekon who got a Hilux van, streamers, Carter Efe and Peller who both got the 2025 edition of Corolla saloon car amongst several others.
The celebrant also gifted Nollywood actor, Zubby Michael a cash gift of N5 million, his brother, Kcee, N40 million and his wife, N100 million.
The birthday boy ended the day by taking over the DJ stand at his party and assuming the role of a DJ.
