Before long, socialite, Teju Philips and former governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke will become in-laws. This is because their respective offspring are all set to tie the knot and begin a life of their own. Today, Xerona Duke, one of the daughters of Donald Duke, accepted the proposal of her long time boyfriend, Derin Philips otherwise known as DJ Caise and are already looking forward to their matrimonial journey.
What makes theirs all the more interesting is the fact that both Xerona and Derin found a common ground for their love to blossom as they both operate in the entertainment industry. While DJ Caise who used to be the in-house DJ for Chocolate city, is currently the in-house DJ for BEAT 99.9 FM and a recipient of the FAB Awards 2011 DJ of the Year Award and Dynamix Youth Awards 2011 DJ of the Year, Xerona is a guitarist and a singer and just like her father, the fair-complexioned beauty plays the saxophone as well.
A graduate of Business Economics and a Masters in Finance from the University of Reading, UK, DJ Caise who is the last of four children of Engineer Lanre and Chief (Mrs.) Teju Phillips, a former Lagos Commissioner, is also the grandson of late billionaire, Ambassador Deinde Fernandez, as his mother is the late ambassador’s first child. Xerona Duke on the other hand is a law graduate and the eldest daughter of Donald and Onari Duke.
