Controversial pastor and founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor has failed to honour the invitation extended to him by the Lagos State police command over allegations of multiple sexual offences and other offences capable of causing a breach of public peace.

He was supposed to honour the invitation on Monday, January 5 at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti by 10:00 a.m. but by midnight of Monday, he was yet to show up.

The police extended the invitation to him following several complaints after it confirmed that has launched a formal criminal investigation into Chris’ actions.

The controversy surrounding him reached a fever pitch when an anonymous individual claiming to be a hired goon for the clergyman made some shocking revelation. The individual currently in hiding, claimed to have carried out nefarious activities on Okafor’s behalf and stated that the pastor owed him N7 million. He offered to lead the police to concealed evidence.

This latest development comes just after Chris knelt down publicly to apologise to Doris and some of the people he has hurt. Chris also, briefly stepped down from his pastoral duties. Although he claims that his reason for stepping down is because of months of continuous activities without rest, including the absence of a honeymoon since his wedding, the real reason is because of the dispute between him and Doris who called him out and accused him of breaching his promise to marry her. She slammed him with a N1 billion lawsuit, citing emotional distress, reputational harm and financial loss. He later got Doris arrested, released and begged her to let bygones be bygones. But that was only the beginning as more and more people with whom he had, had bad dealings with in the past have continued to expose him including his ex-wife, Beesam, a choir member who he was in a relationship with and promised marriage to. The said choir member committed got pregnant for him four times and each time, he refused to accept the pregnancy until the fifth one which she kept and resulted into a male child. Sources reveal that some of his fellow clergies had advised him to take time off the pulpit to seek God’s face and repentance in hopes that the scandal around him will die down.
